Every year, BEST robotics features a different competition. These competitions each have a different theme and a new challenge for the robot to complete.

2024 – Low G

Low G is a robotics competition in the BEST Robotics program that challenges students to design and build robotics that can operate in a simulated low-gravity environment.

2023 – Incision Decision

Incision Decision is a robotics competition in the BEST Robotics program that challenges students to design and build robots that preform minimally invasive surgeries. 

2022 – Made 2 Order

The 2022 BEST Robotics game, Made 2 Order, was a challenge to use robotics to address global supply chain issues Robots were tasked with building a remote-controlled robot to collect robot parts and fulfill orders.

2021 – DemoDaze

The 2021 Competition is called “Demo Daze,” themed around the demolition of buildings and recycling materials. Robots are given tasks such as retrieving pipes and scrap metal, placing light poles, and building protective barriers.

2020 – Outbreak

The competition for 2020 is called Outbreak. The theme of this competition was a virtual robotics competition and program that focused on micro-robotics and the pandemic.

The competition for 2019 is called Off The Grid. The theme of this competition is restoring power. This year’s game involves restoring power to a grid.

The competition for 2018 is called Current Events. The theme of this competition is cleaning up ocean pollution. This year’s game is unique, and involves driving down a rail which represents an ocean current.
