BEST Robotics is an organization focused on teaching STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to middle and high school students. Every year, a new competition is issued and any team that wants to can compete for free. Given a kit of materials, students have six weeks to create a robot capable of completing the tasks set in the competition. Additionally, they must create a marketing presentation, exhibit booth, and more, basically running their team like a company.
BEST is an amazing program designed to get students interested in engineering and give them experience that will help them in the business world. Students learn engineering, design, teamwork, marketing, public speaking, management, and more.
BEST originated in North Texas in 1993 by TI employees Ted Mahler and Steve Marum. Since then, the organization has grown rapidly, now enveloping around 50 hubs and over 850 teams.
