With only six weeks to get the team ready for the hub competition – a job that includes building a robot, exhibit booth, engineering notebook, preparing our marketing presentation and social media platform – THE Robotics gets busy after kickoff. Below is this year’s calendar of major events.
September 20 – Game Reveal & Hub Kickoff at Collin County Technical College
September 20 – Team Kickoff
September 22 to 26 – First safety and prototyping shifts
September 27 – Selecting the initial design, exhibit meetings start, and marketing presentation tryouts
September 29 to October 26 – Building, testing, and refining the robot
October 11 – Spirit meetings begin on Saturday afternoons.
October 25 – Driver tryouts
November 1 – Practice Day at Allen STEAM Center
November – Team meetings: Exhibit, Marketing Presentation, Driver, and Spirit.
November 14 and 15 – Hub Competition at Ereckson Middle School. Marketing presentation on the 14th, as well as the exhibit booths. The competition lasts all day on the 15th, so feel free to join us even if you aren’t on the team!
December 11 through 13 – Regional Competition at Fair Park. Because there are so many exhibit booths, they are only up on the 11th, and you do not want to miss them. The marketing presentation is also on the 11th. Due to the large number of teams, this competition will be spread between two days. Regional robots are always amazing – this isn’t something to miss!
